Walk Sunday February 11th 2024

Posted on: Sat 10th February 10:05pm
This Sunday, Moira is facilitating a walk in the Geevagh area. In fact we will drive out of Geevagh meeting at the church to the beautiful wilderness near Tap. The walk will be on bog roads, some a bit wet. So wear suitable footwear. Starting around the Carrownaclaun wind farm, the walk is about 10km,and if the weather is clear there will be some beautiful views. That is...if the weather is OK. If the day is going to be a bit miserable, we might save this walk for another day. You will be notified. South West of this wind farm, is Carrane Hill. Deserted now, but in 1908, tenants were evicted from the Keogh Estate in Geevagh and they were forced to eke out a living on the barren slopes of Carrane Hill.
We will meet at Geevagh RC church at 11am off the R284 between Sooey and Ballyfarnon. Contact is Moira 086 856 1561.
See you then
