Walk Sunday February 12th.

Posted on: Sat 11th February 12:44pm

Well folks. It's that time again for our Sunday walk. (February 12th) This week is Sliabh an Iarainn or Mountain of the Iron for us non native speakers. That's because iron was in fact mined from this mountain up until the late 19th century (straight from Wikipedia) Our one and only environmental officer is leading this walk, which knowing Tom, will be interesting and enjoyable. It is a B grade walk and I would say gaiters would come in handy as well as your boots and rain gear, although hopefully rain gear won't be needed. The meeting place is the Crescent, Boyle at 10:30am. Alternatively, if it suits you better, you can meet up at the Bank of Ireland car park in Drumshanbo at 11:00am. Hopefully we'll see lots of people out in this amazing weather. Any queries: Tom..087 2379632.

If you would like to learn basic mountain skills, I draw your attention to the previous email regarding this as there are still a couple of places left. Please e mail me if you would like to join.
